Taxonomy
Ostrea tevesthensis was named by Coquand (1862). It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pycnodonta boucheroni by Dartevelle and Freneix (1957); it was recombined as Curvostrea tevesthensis by Malchus (1990) and Cooper (2002).
