Taxonomy
Perca ignota was named by Smirnov (1830). It is the type species of Caucasisciaena.

It was recombined as Larimus ignotus by Danil'chenko (1960); it was recombined as Larimus ignota by Danil'chenko (1980); it was recombined as Caucasisciaena ignota by Bannikov et al. (2009).
