Sternbergia waitei
Taxonomy
Sternbergia waitei was named by Jordan (1925). Its type specimen is SU 689, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Featherstone Quarry, Covina, which is in a Miocene marine claystone in the Puente Formation of California. It is the type species of Sternbergia.
