Daeodon humerosus

Taxonomy
Boochoerus humerosus was named by Cope (1879) [genotype]. Its type specimen is AMNH 7380, a set of postcrania (complete manus, pes, and forelimb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is John Day (non-specific), which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the John Day Formation of Oregon.

It was recombined as Elotherium humerosusm by Hay (1902); it was recombined as Daeodon humerosus by Cope and Matthew (1915) and Foss and Fremd (1998); it was considered a nomen vanum by Brunet (1975) and Albright (1999).
