Podocrates vancouverensis was named by Whiteaves (1895). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Podocratus vancouverensis by Rathbun (1926); it was recombined as Linuparus vancouverensis by Woodward (1900) and Feldmann and McPherson (1980).
