Taxonomy
Rhipidomena subparallela was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117679, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Road cut and quarry on U. S. Highway 25W, 4.7 miles south of Clinton, which is in a Chazyan shallow subtidal limestone in the Elway Formation of Virginia.
