Taxonomy
Rhipidomena fillocostellata was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117671a, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 1 mile by road northwest of Big Springs, Binfield, which is in a Blackriveran marine sandstone in the Sevier Shale Formation of Tennessee.
