Taxonomy
Onychoplecia kindlei was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117092a, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Table Cove, which is in a Chazyan slope limestone/shale in the Table Cove Formation of Canada.
