Taxonomy
Onychoplecia tenuis was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117091, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McLish Ranch, which is in a Turinian deep subtidal sandstone/shale in the Bromide Formation of Oklahoma.
