Taxonomy
Isophragma ponderosum was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 123259a and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 2 miles north of Martin's Ridge, which is in a Mohawkian carbonate limestone in the Copenhagen Formation of Nevada.
