It was reranked as the subclass Inadunata by Wright et al. (2017) and Mao et al. (2018).

It was assigned to Crinoidea by Regnell (1948), Burke (1977), Parsley (1981), Donovan (1984) and Donovan (1986); and to Pentacrinoidea by Wright et al. (2017) and Mao et al. (2018).
