Austroscarites femoratus

Taxonomy
Scarites femoratus was named by Hamilton (1992). Its type specimen is MUGD 3578, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is NMVPL425, Koonwarra, which is in an Aptian pond claystone/siltstone in Australia. It is the type species of Scarites, Austroscarites.

It was recombined as Austroscarites femoratus by Jell (2004).
