Taphrodonta bicornigera was named by Nikitin (1974). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shiderty River, Narulgen, which is in a Sandbian carbonate horizon in the Sarybidaik Formation of Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Bandaleta bicornigera by Nikitin and Popov (1996).
