Taxonomy
Venericardia crescentensis was named by Weaver and Palmer (1922). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 358, which is in a Ypresian marine horizon in the Crescent Formation of Washington.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Leuroactis) crescentensis by Verástegui (1953).
