Taxonomy
Proeocoleophorus carlinii was named by Sedor et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MCN.P.1200, an osteoderm, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Curitiba, which is in a Bartonian floodplain mudstone/sandstone in the Guabirotuba Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Proeocoleophorus.
