Punatherium catamarcensis

Taxonomy
Punatherium catamarcensis was named by Ciancio et al. (2016). Its type specimen is MLP 93-VI-1-18, an osteoderm, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Antofagasta de la Sierra, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial sandstone/conglomerate in the Geste Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Punatherium.
