Oppelia yeovilensis was named by Rollier (1911).

It was recombined as Oxycerites yeovilensis by Majidifard (2015); it was recombined as Oxycerites (Oxycerites) yeovilensis by Besnosov and Mitta (1993), Zatoń (2010) and Seyed-Emami et al. (2018).
