Taxonomy
Ucayalimys crassidens was named by Boivin et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MUSM 2857, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CTA-32, which is in an Oligocene fluvial-lacustrine claystone/conglomerate in the Chambira Formation of Peru. It is the type species of Ucayalimys.
