Taxonomy
Periphragnis vicentei was named by Bradham et al. (2015). Its type specimen is SGOPV 3107, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tinguiririca Locality Sets 1 & 2, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial volcaniclastic in the Abanico Formation of Chile.
