Taxonomy
Basiliola strasfogeli was named by Cooper (1978). Its type specimen is USNM 550831 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R73, Waimanu-Savura Road, which is in a Zanclean carbonate marl in the Suva Marl Formation of Fiji.
