Taxonomy
Heosminthus chimidae was named by Daxner-Höck et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NHMW 2013/0128/0001, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taatsiin Gol, right side, section TGR-B, layer 1, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial mudstone in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
