Taxonomy
Parkinsonia pseudoplanulata was named by Besnosov (1993). Its type specimen is VNIGRI 115/4001, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Akhvakhshtab, Dagestan (middle middle Tsudakhar Fm), which is in a Parkinsoni marine horizon in the Tsudakhar Formation of the Russian Federation.
