Macrochelys stricta
Taxonomy
Chelydrops stricta was named by Matthew (1924). Its type specimen is AMNH 6297, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Surface Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Olcott Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Chelydrops.
It was recombined as Macrochelys stricta by Hutchison (2008) and Joyce (2016).
