Hemithyris peculiaris

Taxonomy
Hemithyris peculiaris was named by Nomura and Hatai (1936). It is extant. Its type specimen is Saito Ho-on Kai Museum 7362, a shell. Its type locality is Iwaizawa, Yazawagi-mura, which is in a Serravallian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Sugota Formation of Japan.
