Maltaia maltensis

Taxonomy
Maltaia maltensis was named by Cooper (1983). Its type specimen is USNM 551164a, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Island of Malta, which is in a Messinian carbonate limestone in the Upper Coralline Limestone Formation of Malta. It is the type species of Maltaia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Terebratula sinuosa by Gaetani and Sacca (1985).
