Kwanyinaspis was named by Zhang and Shu (2005). It is not extant. Its type is Kwanyinaspis maotianshanensis.
It was assigned to Aglaspida by Zhang and Shu (2005); to Conciliterga by Paterson et al. (2012); to Aglaspidida by Ortega-Hernandez et al. (2013); and to Artiopoda by Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).
