Taxonomy
Amphilichas aranaceus was named by Twenhofel (1928). Its type specimen is YPM 25469, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Arctinurus aranaceus by Chatterton and Ludvigsen (2004).
