Taxonomy
Calymene schucherti was named by Twenhofel (1928). Its type specimen is YPM 7241, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Diacalymene schucherti by Bolton (1972) and Chatterton and Ludvigsen (2004).
