Taxonomy
Sphaerexochus canadensis was named by Billings (1866). Its type specimen is GSC 2557, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Pseudosphaerexochus canadensis by Twenhofel (1928); it was recombined as Youngia canadensis by Norford (1994); it was recombined as Hyrokybe canadensis by Chatterton and Ludvigsen (2004).
