Taxonomy
Platylichas infimus was named by Campbell and Chatterton (2006). Its type specimen is UA 9774, a pygidium, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Fauna a, Section AV1, Whittaker Fm., Mackenzie Mts., which is in an Aeronian deep subtidal shelf limestone/shale in the Whittaker Formation of Canada.
