Taxonomy
Acanthopyge (Lobopyge) pristina was named by Campbell and Chatterton (2006). Its type specimen is UA 9796, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Section AV4B, Level 112 m, Whittaker Fm., Avalanche Lake Area, Mackenzie Mts., which is in a Hirnantian open shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Whittaker Formation of Canada.
