Taxonomy
Baissoptera bicolor was named by Lyu et al. (2017). Its type specimen is CNU-RAP-LB-2017028, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2017 collection, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
