Taxonomy
Acanthopyge (Lobopyge) bassei was named by Chatterton and Gibb (2010). Its type specimen is UA 13653, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Erbenochile bed, which is in an Emsian/Eifelian deep subtidal wackestone in the El Otfal Formation of Morocco.
