Taxonomy
Elmomantis engeli was named by Prokop et al. (2017). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Elmo, MCZ post-1950 collection, which is in an Artinskian pond limestone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Elmomantis.
