Mayomyzon pieckoensis
Taxonomy
Mayomyzon pieckoensis was named by Bardack and Zangerl (1968). Its type specimen is FMNH PF5687, a skeleton, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Area 3, Pit 11, Peabody Coal Company, which is in a Moscovian marine shale in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Mayomyzon.
