Taxonomy
Acanthopyge (Lobopyge) parapleura was named by Curtis and Lane (1998). Its type specimen is SM X.27320a, b [counterparts], an exoskeleton, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Llandovery Area, Dyfed, LL4, which is in an Aeronian offshore mudstone in the Rhydings Formation of the United Kingdom.
