Taxonomy
Proetus pseudolatifrons was named by Reed (1904). Its type specimen is BM In21946 [lectotype selected by Owens 1973], a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold.

It was recombined as Astroproetus pseudolatifrons by Owens (1973).
