Taxonomy
Homalonotus bisulcatus minor was named by Salter (1852). Its type specimen is SMA 10574 [lectotype], a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Brongniartella minor by Harper (1947) and Whittington (1966).
