Taxonomy
Hemiarges balanus was named by Rudkin et al. (1994). Its type specimen is ROM 46087, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Southwestern District of Mackenzie, Whittaker Anticline (H-1920), which is in a Wildernessian carbonate limestone in the Whittaker Formation of Canada.
