Rhynchosauroides sphaerodactylus
Taxonomy
Rhynchosauroides sphaerodactylus was named by Demathieu (1971). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is 21.1 AN1, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chasselay tracksite, level C (BQ), which is in an Anisian/Ladinian terrestrial horizon in the Grès Inférieurs du Lyonnais Formation of France.

G. Demathieu 1971 | Empreinte lacertoïde, petite (19 x 26 mm). Pied pentadactyle. Orteils assez larges terminés par des griffes de forme elliptique déjetées vers l'intérieur, à reliefs arrondis. Angle de divergence des trois doigts médians voisin de 40°, celui des orteils extrêmes voisin de 100°. La main (un seul exemplaire) ne montre que l'extrémité des doigts ; elle est placée légèrement en avant du pied qui la recouvre partiellement. L'aspect et la taille dont du même ordre de grandeur que ceux du pied. |
