Firby 1966Shell trigonal, inflated; beaks high, two-thirds distant from anterior margin; surface of shell with prominent concentric sculpture, regularly spaced, uniform in size near beak, stronger towards margin; hinge arched, wath cardinal area almost straight; posterior margin slightly curved; right valve with two posterior and two anterior laterals, posterior laterals slightly more massive than anterior; cavity between both posterior and anterior laterals deep; dorsal laterals low, ventral laterals roundly pointed; crescent-shaped shallow ligamental groove from cardinal tooth extends anteriorly to, but does not meet, anterior lateral; 2 triangular, pointed cardinal teeth; anterior cardinal extended to form low ridge which joins anterior lateral, forming ventral boundary of the anterior ligamental groove.
