Gomiites granulatus

Taxonomy
Decoroproetus granulatus was named by Kobayashi and Hamada (1974). Its type specimen is PAt 7377, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 3. Ys 15. Gomi Quarry, which is in a Ludlow reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Fukata Formation of Japan.

It was recombined as Gomiites granulatus by Pribyl and Vanĕk (1978) and Stocker et al. (2019).

C. P. Stocker et al. 2019Anterior border furrow long. Pygidium with five axial rings and four pleural ribs; posterior pygidial border furrow broad and deep, with weakly convex border. Glabella with coarsely granular sculpture, finer granules on preglabellar field and librigena. Thoracic segments with pits on the surface of axial rings and pleural ribs; moderately fine granules on anterior two pygidial axial rings and pleural ribs.
