Taxonomy
Parahelenites was named by Chen and Liu (1974). Its type is Parahelenites guizhouensis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Eushantungoceras by Dzik (1984).

It was assigned to Parahelenitidae by Chen et al. (1981); and to Actinocerida by Stait (1988).
