Taxonomy
Ammonites landrioti was named by d'Orbigny (1850). It is the type species of Epophioceras.

It was recombined as Vermiceras landrioti by Fucini (1902); it was recombined as Epophioceras landrioti by Spath (1924), Corna and Dommergues (1995), Blau (1998) and Meister and Friebe (2003).
