Ammonites abnormis was named by Hauer (1853).

It was recombined as Psiloceras abnorme by Geyer (1886); it was recombined as Gemmellaroceras abnorme by Bremer (1965); it was recombined as Leptonotoceras abnorme by Blau (1998).

  • Ammonites meyrati was named by Ooster (1860).

    It was recombined as Polymorphites meyrati by Hug (1899); it was recombined as Leptonotoceras meyrati by Donovan (1958); it was synonymized subjectively with Gemmellaroceras abnorme by Bremer (1965); it was synonymized subjectively with Leptonotoceras abnorme by Blau (1998).
