H. W. Miller 1969 (Archaeognathidae)Small, comblike structures, consisting of phosphatic, cone-shaped denticles aligned along a base consisting of a bone-like substance. The base may be v or horseshoe shaped, and the denticles may be confined to only a portion of the base. The denticles attachment to the base is acrodont. The entire structure is phosphatic, and the denticle sare transparent or translucent.
