J. J. Day 2002 | A sparid distinguished by a steeply inclined ethmoid±vomerine region and posterior ̄attening of the ethmoid crest. The elongate form of the head and partially preserved trunk suggests a body depth ratio of approximately 4:1. The lever arm of the maxilla is straight and elongate, with a reduced dorsal crest. The dorsal margin of the premaxillary alveolar process is straight. The dentition consists of a single row of caniniform teeth along the occlusal margin of the jaw. |
