Often credited to Billings 1863 where it appears but is nude.

Taxonomy
Cyrtoceras syphax was named by Billings (1865). It is the type species of Eremoceras.

It was recombined as Eremoceras syphax by Hyatt (1884) and Ulrich et al. (1943).
