Taxonomy
Natica lewisii was named by Gould (1847). It is extant.

It was recombined as Lunatia lewisii by Ashley (1895) and Woodring and Bramlette (1950); it was recombined as Polinices (Euspira) lewisii by Waterfall (1929), Soper and Grant, IV (1932) and Marincovich (1977); it was recombined as Euspira lewisi by Woodring et al. (1946); it was recombined as Euspira lewisii by Hendy (2021).
