Diala acuta was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 390, a shell.

It was recombined as Pseudodiala acuta by Hendy (2021).

Synonyms
  • Diala marmorea was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant.

    It was recombined as Barleeia marmorea by Valentine (1958); it was synonymized subjectively with Pseudodiala acuta by Hendy (2020).
